An Iliad at CreativeCon

AN ILIAD at Panama City CreativeCon

Visual & Performing Arts, Gulf Coast State College presents 9 Muses Theatre‘s production of An Iliad by Lisa Peterson and Denis O’Hare. Based on Homer’s The Iliad, translated by Robert Fagles.

Starring Allen Walker. Directed by Rachel Eiland-Hall.

An Iliad is a modern-day retelling of Homer’s classic. Poetry and humor, the ancient tale of the Trojan War and the modern world collide in this captivating theatrical experience. The setting is simple: the empty theater. The time is now: the present moment. The lone figure onstage is a storyteller — possibly Homer, possibly one of the many bards who followed in his footsteps. He is fated to tell this story throughout history.

Performances are Sept 17 at 2pm and Sept 18 at 1pm in the upstairs Main Gallery at Panama City Center for the Arts in Downtown Panama City. Venue: (850) 640-3670

Admission is included as part of admission to Panama City CreativeCon.

This production was originally presented in May, 2016 by GCSC Playersand 9 Muses Theatre at Gulf Coast State College.

Recommneded for mature audiences.
