Buddy Guy, Live in Concert
Please note, this event has expired.
The Blues are really proving to be “alive and well”! Buddy Guy, American blues guitar and vocal icon, is back on tour and bringing his soulful music to American cities again. Guy’s monumental hits like “Mustang Sally,” “Ain’t No Sunshine,” and “Feels Like Rain,” are classics that cement Guy into the wall of Blues legends, but audience members of this tour will get to see Guy playing fresh jams as well. This time, he will be supporting his new album, The Blues Is Alive and Well. Bay Arts Alliance is proud to announce that Buddy Guy: Live in Concert has added a one night only stop on Wednesday, October 10 at Marina Civic Center!
Once called “the best guitar player alive” by Eric Clapton, and a well-deserved member of Rolling Stone’s 100 Greatest Guitarists, Guy is sure to impress Augusta fans that come out for the show. Guy has been performing live music since the early 1950’s when he busted into the scene in Baton Rouge. A legend was created during Guy’s time spent in Chicago and for over half a century since, Guy has been bringing down the house at energetic live shows. If Guy’s history combined with his seven Grammy awards isn’t enough to prove that his dominance over the music scene is anything but fading, The Americana Music Association has chosen to award Guy with the Lifetime Achievement Award, an honor that he will be accepting September in Nashville.
The Blues is Alive and Well is his first album since his 2015 release of Born to Play Guitar, another stellar album. The new album came out this summer on June 15 and included features by Mick Jagger, James Bay, Keith Richards and Jeff Beck.
