Classical painting techniques are taught in this class using the proven methods of Renaissance Masters and 19th century French Ateliers.
Working with a limited pallet, students will learn color mixing, brushwork, and edge control in this six-week course. Similar to the Classical Drawing course, students will start with beginning exercises, and progress to chiaroscuro shapes and cast painting, eventually leading to painting from a live, clothed model. Supply List: 6- 9×12 Canvases; Oil Paints (1 Tube of 37 ml Titanium White, 1 Tube of 37 ml Ivory Black, 1 Tube of 37 ml Yellow Ochre, 1 Tube of 37 ml Terra Rosa or Burnt Sienna, 1 Tube of 37 ml Ultramarine Blue, OPTIONAL COLORS: 1 Tube of 37 ml Viridian Green, 1 Tube of 37 ml Cadmium Red); Gesso; White Taklon Paint Brushes – 10 Piece Set; Palette Knife; Paper Towels Roll; Palette Paper pad or Roll of wax paper; Silicoil Brush Cleaning Tank; Liquin; Turpenoid.
