Fall Day Camp

The Challenger Learning Center will host a Fall Day Camp on Sept. 16. The theme is Oh No! Ozone! Help us celebrate International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer.

September 16, 2021: Oh No! Ozone!
Celebrate International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer at Camp Challenger! K-5th grade appropriate activities may includebuilding ozone molecules with gumdrops, making sun catchers, testing the air for pollution, creating 3D models of the environment, designing and creating solar powered inventions, fly a simulated space mission in the Space Mission Simulator to track hurricanes and study the ozone layer.

Camps are $40 per day which includes lunch and materials. Open registration begins Sept. 3.

PARKING INFO

PUBLIC PARKING

The Kleman Parking Garage is the closest public parking garage to the Challenger Learning Center (CLC). It is adjacent to the CLC on Kleman Plaza. Entrances to the Kleman Parking Garage are located on South Duval and South Bronough Streets. The rates are follows:

  • 0-2 Hours: $2.00
  • 2-3 Hours: $2.50
  • 3-4 Hours: $3.00
  • 4-5 Hours: $3.50
  • 5-6 Hours: $4.00
  • 6-7 Hours: $4.50
  • 7-8 Hours: $5.00
  • 8+ Hours: $6.00
  • After 6:00 P.M.: $1.00
  • Weekends all day:$1.00

Additional parking is available at metered street spots and other public lots located throughout downtown Tallahassee.

Buses: Buses should pull into the bus ramp on College Ave.  Enter the bus ramp by traveling South on Bronough St. and turning left onto College Ave.  The bus ramp will be on the immediate right.  The bus ramp is for drop off and pick up only.  Parking is available at the Leon County Civic Center (free for Leon County Schools; $35 for all other buses), the Governor’s Square Mall, or in the free parking lot at the corner of Gaines Street and Duval Street.
