WALLY WHITE Presents AFRICA

Wally White Presents Africa!
August 18 – September 29, 2018

Inspired by a recent trip to Africa, Wally White brings his experience to us through his oil paintings of the colors, textures, landscape and animals he encountered and were inspired by.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Wally White began his professional artistic career in New York City.  After studying at the Art Students League and the Fashion Institute of Technology, he put his talents to work designing fabrics for the textile industry.

Following a visit to Hawaii in 1968 Wally decided to make the Islands his permanent home.  Initially he made his living showing and selling his paintings on the Kapiolani Park fence.  When the popular TV show “Hawaii Five-0” arrived in Honolulu Wally was chosen by Jack Lord to play the part of Charlie the police sketch artist.

During that period he moonlighted designing sets for local little theater and won two Pookela awards for “Song of Singapore” and “The King and I.”  He was nominated twice for Pimetime Emmy Awards for best set design – once for an episode of “Murder She Wrote” and then for his work on the mini-series “War and Remembrence.”
